Welcome January!
I hope you had an excellent break! I certainly did. I enjoyed spending time with friends and family, enjoying great food and much song.
Music in December was filled with a lot of singing, enjoying treats and giving gifts in our fantastic School community. All grades will now be working towards a winter theme. Grade 4/5's will have the opportunity to play Ukulele's and Drums.
Math for Gr.4/5's will be finishing off our fraction unit, reviewing our pizza making and smartie-eating, and moving on to Decimals. We will tie place value into decimals through money and using money manipulatives to increase a valuable connection to the world around us. Next unit will be multiplication and division.
I am looking forward to connecting more closely with our Gr.2/3 class this year! It will be a new adventure filled with challenges and enjoyable activities!
Gr. 2/3 Science will be exploring and creating vehicles that move by a force. Elastic propelled car, wind and water wheels and other vehicles will be uncovered.
Gr. 2/3 Social Studies will find us inquiring into Lethbridge's identity, stories, history and culture as we move towards the First Nations' impact on our way of life in the past and present.
Gr.2/3 Physical Education has started off with Safety and Teamwork. We will engage in the 'Olympics' as our 'Mission Impossible' course is set up in the gym. It will be a great way to explore safety through an engaging activity.
I look forward to creating new experiences together!
